Pop-Up Gallery for June The Artists @R25
Fit To Be Tied -- Keith Burns
For those of you who missed it last month, Keith Burns, tie collector extraordinare, has agreed to continue his wonderful exhibit of ties through the end of June. $10 each/3 for $25. Proceeds benefit MatrixArts education programs.

Collected over 30 years these new and vintage ties include designs by Jerry Garcia and Rush Limbaugh, film and animated characters, plus art ties with every image imaginable -- transportation, sports, holidays, travel, abstracts, and business ties. Yes, even Kinko’s!
Aprons by Tony and Donna Natsoulas, Lawrence Fox and other regional artists

The show also features handpainted and designed aprons from regional artists -- an homage to fathers and mothers. Perfect for hanging on a wall or to wear at a barbeque.
Also on exhibit -- original art, photography and jewelry by MatrixArts members and the artists @R25 -- Ken Kelsoe, Hilda Tonarely, Joy Gee, Lawrence Fox, Daphne Burgess, Erika Byrd Foley, Robert Gordon, Maryellen Burns, Leo Dabaghian, Tamara Shortt, Sister Sheba, Tom Haseltine, Jane Winsberg, Pali Delevitt, Trina Drotarand many more. Also featuring handmade cards, collage; mixed media, photography, jewelry and collectible books by Books on Main. Collected Works -- MatrixArts Members Show


Second Saturday Reception

featuring the work of member artists plus work from their private collections inluding jewelry, photography, fine art, lithos, ceramics.

The Pop-Up Gallery @R 25 is a new midtown space that pops-up on an irregular basis to  showcase the work of regional artists, writers and actors.  Hosted by MatrixArts, Sacramento Poetry Center, On Stage and other partners in the @R25 arts and cultural center at 1719 25th Street Sacramento, CA  95816. 
Collected Works runs from February 13 - February 27th and features work by MatrixArts members and student artists from local community colleges. Artworks include: Daphne Burgess, Amy Eckert, Joseph Finkleman, Picasso, Jane Winsberg, John Berger, Donna Billick, Darrell Forney and much more.

Frida & Friends November 14 and 15 2009

Join Lawrence Fox in an exhibition of Frida Kahlo inspired paintings, sculpture and mixed media at the new Pop-Up Gallery@R25, the arts and cultural center at 1719 25th Street in Midtown, Sacramento.  The show will be held Second Saturday, November 14th, from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday November 15th from 10 am to 4 pm and every Thursday and Friday during the rest of November. 

Frida & Friends also includes work by Seattle photographer Tom Haseltine, artisan designed jewerly by North Carolina based Pali Delevitt and fine art and estate jewelry from Jane Winsberg.  Admission is free.

On Sunday, November 15 also enjoy a Pop-Up Workshop to commemorate the opening of the new Pop-Up Gallery.  Create greeting cards, pop-up books and pop-up art.  All materials and instruction provided. Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for children.  An adult must accompany children under 8.  Become a MatrixArts member and admission is free. 




MatrixArts is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that provides art and design education for adults, teens and kids.  Proceeds from Frida & Friends and our workshop series provide arts and literacy programs in libraries, schools, senior centers, parks and other venues throughout the Sacramento region.
